The fight to provide women the right to vote had been intensifying since the middle of the 19th century, and the Women's Suffrage Movement in the early 1900s was a pivotal attempt to achieve this goal. Women had relatively little political influence and were mainly prohibited from voting during this time. The movement aimed to give women equal political rights by highlighting their need to have a say in the laws that affected their daily lives. Suffragettes coordinated campaigns, petitions, and demonstrations to support voting rights in countries like the US and the UK. This battle was aided by notable individuals such as Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton in the United States and Emmeline Pankhurst in the United Kingdom. A major win for the United States was the ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920. In the UK, women gained the right to vote in the 1918 movement, which advanced women's political rights.

One of the main figures in the American Women's Suffrage Movement was Alice Paul. She was an enthusiastic advocate of women's equality and was crucial in securing an amendment to the Constitution that would grant women the right to vote. She was born in 1885. She carried out bold protests, including picketing the White House, and established the National Woman's Party in 1916. Hunger strikes and other tough strategies used by her group raised awareness of the issue and increased pressure for reform. Her efforts resulted in the 1920 ratification of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote. Alice Paul's determination and leadership were essential to the suffrage movement's success.

The women's suffrage movement achieved a major political victory by securing women's voting rights. It did not, however, effectively tackle more general gender inequality, such as racial and economic differences. Nevertheless, it set the stage for other revolutions, influencing contemporary laws about gender equality and motivating continuous fights for equal rights in politics, the workplace, and numerous other areas.
