She had a connection to the land that was present in her assemblage sculptures.
 
One particular piece that stood out to me was Manaro (1989). This work was made out of

old soft drink crates cut and reassembled to mimic the Manaro plains on the drive to Canberra from New South Whales. Her technique of slicing the wood has created a sense of movement within the work. This reaches out to the viewer as they become a part of the experience as they feel like the work is in a state of movement.
 
For me, the work reminds me of when you are looking through the car window on a drive and the landscapes seem to become a blur as the car is moving so fast that you don't have time to process what you are seeing.
