Miss Paterson helped us to set up our very own Padlet - this will be linked to our school website so that everyone can see what we do each week.
Next week we need to print the Online Safety bookmarks so that we can give them out after school one evening. We will discuss the date for this next week.
We have decided who will stand on which gate to give out the bookmarks.

We talked about the questions that we wanted to ask the rest of the school in the autumn safety survey. We talked about the question "Do you feel safe online?"

It appeared that the younger children don't really understand what being online means so we are going to hold an assembly for KS1 and try to help them to understand what it actually means.
Online Officers are going to research some videos/pictures to help the children understand.

We talked about a visit to Oxlip House on Friday 11th November. We are going to talk to the residents about what we do and ask them about their internet use.

We looked at the Abbots Green Website and Mrs Uttley showed us how to access this padlet! We are going to go home and share it with our parents and show our year groups.

Arthur is going on a residential trip in a few weeks. Safety Squad normally take their gilets and check out the safety of wherever they are visiting. Arthur would like to do the same, but for Online Safety, so the Online Officers are going think of one thing each, that Arthur could do whilst he is away.

Year 6 are going on their PGL next week; this is what we would like Arthur to find out:
- Making sure that the teachers are using a school iPad to take photos of the children (not their personal iPads or phones).
- Make sure that the children do not have mobile phones with them - there has been a rumour that some children might try to sneak them in their luggage. (Mrs Uttley will speak to Mrs Heath & Miss Thurlow about this).
- Arthur will ask the PGL staff if they are allowed to use their own phones whilst with the children

During the meeting today, we checked out the website for the PGL trip. Here are our comments/thoughts:

We found the safeguarding policy on the website and found this about E-Safety:

E-safety PGL recognises that it is the enhanced functions of many mobile devices that cause the most concern, and which are most susceptible to misuse. Misuse includes the taking and distribution of indecent images, exploitation and bullying. PGL has a specific E-Safety Policy which identifies the risks and describes the control measures in place to mitigate those risks. When illegal content or activity is found or suspected, the police and or the internet watch foundation/child exploitation and online protection centre will be contacted.

We arranged a meeting/party for tomorrow to say goodbye to Arthur (Year 6 Online Officer), and also Amalia & Elsie (Year 6 Safety Squad).
We interviewed Year 3 teachers to find out what they do to make Year 3 feel so safe online (Mrs Uttley was called out to the field so we did this on our own!)
