After some terrorist attacks from radical extremist muslims, people started to have suspicions that all muslims were terrorists and would want to cause harm. Multiple anti-muslim hateful acts are reported everyday, ranging from a school kid being bullied for being muslim or an adult being denied application for a job for being muslim. Anti-muslim groups are spreading more and more hate on muslim people. Even politicians, who are supposed to be unbiased and accepting to the people have some negative views on muslims. Mostly this is happening because of terrorist attacks occurring all over the word from radical muslim groups who are shaping a bad image among muslims.

A poll showed us that 1 in 3 muslims has faced some sort of religious discrimination. Another poll said that 60% of muslims in the U.S have been faced with negative comments or religious slurs. There have also been lots of issues with mosques and islamic centers, multiple times rocks have been throw at the windows causing security measures to be taken.

Muslim discrimination according to one source is present in multiple different countries, and is a global issue. Countries all around the world have had to take federal measures to insure the safety of their muslim citizens. Know Your Rights organization lists multiple rights in the constitution that are violated against muslims. They also provide information on what you can do when your rights are violated by somebody. ODIHR or OSCE have strategies that can counter discrimination. CAIR mostly creates lawsuits against people who harmed muslims in any sort of action. There are also many more organizations that help and support muslims around the world and the U.S.

Facing discrimination is very hard and tough to go through. And right now I am facing religious discrimination because I’m muslim. Everywhere I go I see people staring at my family and I. I think to myself why do people have to be so unacceptable to my religion. When I talk to someone I see hate in their eyes that glare at me. I was walking back home with friends, I saw a guy holding a sign full of hate to muslims. What is happening is unacceptable, just because radical and extremist terrorists do something bad, they do not reflect on the behalf of the entire religion. Hopefully people become more accepting of other races, religions and genders because we are all united, we are all one country and we are all people.
