Understanding<br>- Knowing that our children are loved and accepted here<br>- Language &amp; our stories about the history of our people (how families lived and how it was back 3 to 4 generations ago)&nbsp;<br>- Spending/making time with loved ones to listen to values<br>- Build, invent and learn how to survive in the wild<br>- Passing down knowledge about the history of our people e.g., 60's Scoop<br>- Pass down the ability to speak up for ourselves<br>- Knowing where we come from<br>- Abilities to hunt and fish, respect for the land and keeping those family traditions alive.&nbsp; Passing on the importance of education.<br>- A firm believer in the ancestors that come before us and providing our young ones with the knowledge and support to provide for our families.<br><br>From your experience, what is one improvement you would suggest to improve the success of Indigenous learners?<br>&nbsp;- Listen&nbsp;<br>- Patience in what your learning&nbsp;<br>- Keep an open-mind<br>- Activism and fearlessness<br>- More programming (In an Institution) of Indigenous Cultural<br>- Figuring out what kind of a learner you are; Understanding the western<br>- Stay focused and ignore the stereotypes and negativity&nbsp;<br>- Finding that one thing that you like or love<br>- The relationship to learn from one another; keeping an open learning environment between teachers and students<br>- Encouraging and mentoring our students in a cultural understanding of traditions; Nurturing the importance of Indigenous Knowledge<br>- Inclusion of learning about Indigenous peoples and being able to celebrate Indigenous peoples; Finding ways to show that our Indigenous peoples have a lot to offer<br>- Teaching people about the colonialism&nbsp;<br>- Stop putting Indigenous People in a box; Explaining the truth&nbsp;<br>- To be open to new information </div>]]></description>
