Austria Hungary were the people that started WWI
On June 28, 1914 a Serbian Nationalists named Gavrilo Princip shot and killed Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his wife
The Austria-Hungary government immediately blamed it on the Serbian Government
A month after on July 28, 1914 Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia
Germany and Italy were allied together but Italy ended up remaining neutral down the line. This was called the triple alliance

With heavy aid and support from its allies, the empire managed to occupy Serbia in 1915 and force Romania out of the war in 1917. On the other fronts, it suffered severe casualties, culminating in the collapse of the Italian front, which led the Austrians to accept the Armistice of Villa Giusti on 3 November 1918.

Austrian-Hungarys Military was not prepared enough to face Russia
Russian Forces captured the city of Lemberg
Austrian-Hungary was defeated and had over 450,000 people killed

The Battle of Caporetto

Austrian-Hungary and Germany joined forces (allies) to launch a surprise attack against Italy
With their two military forces combined they regained lost territory
Austrian-Hungary and Germany caused Italians to retreat and they captured many prisoners
The Combined forces ended up winning this Battle significantly.
