Colour is used all throughout the painting, particularly in the background we see a large scheme of bright hues. The use of brighter, saturated colours contribute to the visual impact and sense of warmth, and also evoke a strong feeling of joy and optimism.

HOW: Along the lines of the pumpkins, there are black circle. There are three pumpkins, the first is red, second yellow, third is green. The black circles are in the pumpkins. The background is a pattern of triangles are also black with the colour of the pumpkins being the outline.

WHY: The bright colours in a darker setting causes an alarming feeling to the audience.
