To get students invested in mathematics, it may help to take trips to this museum throughout the school year. The trips could also be planned according to what students are learning in the curriculum at that given time of the year. The New York Hall of Science in Queens also has a mathematics section and can also be used to enrich student scientific understanding.

We should continue fostering that with chess tournaments throughout the school year. However, there are many other board games that also take a lot of strategy and planning.

We could start a Board game club or have a class available for students who do not need a full course load to learn strategy games. Settlers of Catan is internationally well-known. There is also Diplomacy where each player is a European power during World War I. Pandemic is another board game that all players work together to stop a global outbreak. Codenames is a two- team game revolving around creating connections between words to guess hidden codes. There are countless games available to foster intellectual curiosity and instill good social norms.
