These records were provided by the horticulture department at The University of Georgia along with other credible sources. It lists the taxonomic name, common names, and an image of the plant as well. Deforestation has been a serious problem in Brazil. There has been an astronomical increase in wildfires within the last year, and the Amazon has lost around one fifth of the rainforest over the last fifty years due to deforestation. This is a threat to Brazil's neighboring countries as well. The wildfire that took place this past July and August bled into Peru, Argentina, Paraguay, and Bolivia before it was contained.
