My advice to you is to build a relationship with Dr.Smirnova and to upload as you go. Dr.Smirnova is a brilliant educator with so much to offer. She is always available to help you and all you have to ever do is reach out to her. Secondly, upload all blogs, assignments, reflections, rubrics, and PPTs as you go. They are due on the forum but you will save yourself hours at the end if you post them in the drop boxes under finale and on your efolio as well when you are doing them. Otherwise you get to the end and have to search for all of the pieces and upload them to two different spaces and then do this times 30. So I leave you with: reach out and keep up!

My advice to you is to take in the most you can out of this course. Dr. Smirnova provides us with many great resources and comments , but it is up to YOU to read them and internalize them so that you can grow and learn each day. You should keep up with the work and your blogs each week so you do not have an abundant amount of work due at the end of the semester. Lastly, you learn a lot from your peers and feedback so do not take these comments offensively if you have corrections, but take them as learning experiences. Good luck to the future class and remember that we are never don learning!

To the future Social Studies Methods class:

My advice to you is to stay on task! Keep up with your blogs each week, read all the assigned readings, submit all assignments on time, and reflect on yourself and your peers work.
Reflecting was one of the main components of this class. It is important to know how to reflect on not only your peers, but yourself as well. Reflecting on yourself will help you improve as an educator, which is why you should reflect on your blog each week.
Also, take advantage of the resources you are provided with. Dr. Smirnova provided our class with tons of useful resources that will help you in the future when you are a teacher. Make sure you use these resources when creating your 3 lessons! Overall, this class was a great learning experience; it will be challenging at times, but you will learn so much!
Best of luck to you!

Dear future students of Social Studies Methods,

My advice to you is to sit back and buckle your seat belts! This class will provide you with so much useful information for your future classrooms. Dr. Smirnova is knowledgeable and dedicated to teaching Social Studies. She is all about technology so you will be introduced to an abundance of technology tools. Even though you will meet in person, this class is fully online. Dr. Smirnova believes in paperless classrooms. SO with that being said, dedicate the time, constantly check e-class, blog weekly, and stay on top of your assignments. Yes it is a lot of work, but it is all beneficial, I promise. I am happy I took this class before my student teaching semester because I believe I have so many useful tools to use in the Spring! All the stress is worth it :p Dr. Smirnova is the best! Have a great semester. Good luck.
-Cassie Z
