Resúme:

The text starts out by telling us ´about thenaturally way the solar warm gets trapped in the atmosphere, this happens because the Carbon dioxide and other gases warm the surface of the planet and then naturally trapping solar heat in the atmosphere. But when we burns fossil fuels such as coal, gas and oil and the massive clearing forests we have dramatically increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the Earth´s atmosphere which makes the temperature rice on the earth. 

 

In the text they come up with some examples of some overwhelming and undeniable evidence like:

·             Glaciers are melting, plants and animals are being forced from their habitats, and the nubers of severe storms and drought is increasing. 

·             The number of category 5 and 5 hurricanes has almost doubled in the last 30 years.

·             The illness Malaria has spread to higher altitudes in places like the Colombian Anders, which is 7.000 feet above sea level.

In the end they tell us that the global warming will effect us so much, that the death will double in just 25 years to 300.000 people a year. The ice from Greenland and Antartica will melt and will rice the sea with more than 20 feet, which mean that most of the coastline areas worldwide will lay underwater. 

 
Man and Nature / the message of the story:

Main theme Man and nature: The humans has a big impact on the global warming, and the effect of this is already massive. If the humans cant chance their lifestyles it will mean that plants, species and even humans will need to move away from their habitat and the result of this will be reduced products and in the end people will die. 

 

The similarities between the letter 'Into the wild' and our topic 'Man and nature' is for example:
-that one of the most important thing in life is the nature, and to explore and enjoy the nature.
-That happiness is found in everything, you just have to look at it differently and more open minded. 
-the joy of life comes from new experience and their is no greater joy for an endless changing horizon for each day.

The ecchoing green is very positive and describes a childhood. In the last stanza, the sun goes down and it turns dark. This could be a metaphor for life turning darker as the days goes by.

He describes the city as if it was nature; pretty, majestic and silent, while the houses are asleep. It seems nature-like. In this poem, the nature plays a bigger role than humanity; it seems like there are no human beings in the city. 

The poem has a few metaphors; the city wears the beauty of the morning. This is not possible. This metaphor makes the poem romantic and idyllic.
 All these romantic descriptions of the city makes it seem more beautiful than it really is; every human aspect of the city is not mentioned in the poem. All the horrible sides of the city have been left out. 

Chris McCandless is a young man who graduated college, he has lived a very gifted life, but has experienced violence between his parents. He has always done very well in school, and he is a very intelligent young man. 

A couple of days after his graduation Chris decides to leave his family without them knowing about. He leaves his car in the desert, and from then on, he hitchhikes around the Northwest. He gets a few jobs, without staying anywhere for too long. During his travels he gets to know a few people rather closely, and everyone likes his curiosity and willingness to live a completely simple life by his beliefs. 

After a long time of travelling around the country, Chris decides that he wants to go to Alaska, to experience the true wild life. He spends a few months preparing for the wild life, and learning all he can about hunting and eatable plants. When he arrives in Alaska he hikes into the wild, suddenly he finds an abandoned bus, in which he lives in throughout his last weeks in Alaska. 

In the summer period Chris eats poisonous berries, which causes him to starve to death. He is later found by some hunters dead in the abandoned bus. 

An essential theme throughout film his Chris’ relationship to his parents, he has chosen to leave them behind and does not contact them whatsoever. We think this is because Chris does not like their very materialistic way of living life and because they have betrayed him badly throughout his life. 

The movie’s connection to the theme “Man and nature” is seen in Chris’ search for a more simple life in nature. He wants to experience nature in its most beautiful and simple form. And even though he is happy when he travels in the wild, he end up learning that happiness is only real when shared.
