MATERIALS
- Herb Kit with herbs
- Large bowl, bucket, or baking sheet
- Water
- An eagerness to get your hands dirty :)

INSTRUCTIONS

1) Gather all of the planting materials. Just like mise en place, being prepared makes planting a breeze.

2) Remove your herbs and soil from the planter.

3) Dump the bag of soil into a large bowl, bucket, or on a baking sheet.

4) Flatten the paper bag and place in the bottom of your planter.

5) Fill your planter halfway with soil.

6) Starting with the oregano, gently squeeze the container to loosen the plant roots. Place your hand over the soil with the herb and tip it upside down over your bowl or planter to release the herb. Gently loosen the roots with your finger tips and place on one end of your planter. Continue with the remaining three herbs in the tall containers leaving 2 inches of space between the herbs. You'll plant these herbs along one edge of your planter leaving space for the parley and cilantro.

7) With the hearty herbs planted, add the cilantro and parsley to the remaining edge of the planter, leaving 1-2 inches of space between the plant seedlings.

8) Start filling in the gaps between the plants with the remaining soil. Gently push the soil down to ensure the plants are secure in the spots. We want to fill it to the top of the bottom rim. The top of the soil line should be 1-1.5 inches from the top of the planter.

9) Gently water in your new plants and place outdoors in a spot that receives 4-6 hours of sunlight. Reminder: water the herbs every other day unless it's very warm. You want the soil to remain a dark brown (almost black) color.

GARDEN TIP
If your soil starts to dry out and turn a lighter color brown, give your herbs less water 2-3 times.
