Napoleon is a autocratic leader. This can be seen from the parts where he forcefully kicked snowball out from the farm and executed many other animals for major and minor reasons. He took complete power by force by not letting snowball peacefully abdicate by choice and right after that assumed control my frightening the other animals by threatening them with injury or death by the dogs he controlled as well as had his subordinate squealer assure them that his removing of their right to vote, and by extension their democratic rights, was all for their own sake in protecting them from Jones, to prevent any form of dissent and have them completely trust and rely on him. Later, when dissent and slight rebellion arose from the animals whose rights he was planning to take away, he immediately executed them as an example and warning towards any other future rebellions against him in order to remove any opposition against his full takeover. Even those animals who had only made minor mistakes such as petty theft were also eliminated and accused of aiding the enemy. After all the bloodshed, he used his propaganda to accuse Snowball, who wasn’t even in the picture, against harming the animals as a whole , once again painting a picture of an enemy who was not actually there and crafting an image of himself as a hero, causing the animals to feel a mixture of fear and awe, relying and not daring to cross him.

Napoleon is an autocratic leader.Napoleon ordered the hens that they are to make a special contribution by sacrificing their eggs to put them up for sale if there was a situation that they needed more money. He did not even seek their permission before coming up with this idea. This shows that Napoleon disregarded their concerns and opinions.Napoleon also announced that the animals would also have to work on Sunday which meant that the amount of rest time they got would also be cut.Although it was said to be optional, any animal which does not work on Sundays would have their rations cut down by half, which hence leaves them no choice but to work on Sundays. Therefore, Napoleon commands the animals and disregards their opinion,as though he is superior to them which shows that he is an autocratic leader.

Napoleon is an autocratic leader. Napoleon leads the farm after the rebellion due to being one of the smartest but also one of the main advocators for the Rebellion. Many authoritarian leaders set a goal and have everyone work towards accomplishing the goal their way, no matter the cost. Like that Napoleon said that work was strictly voluntary, and any animal who absented himself from it would give his rations reduced in half. We see Napoleon halving rations for the animals who do not work extra time on the windmill. Napoleon is forcing animals to work harder or to face starvation as the rations are already so small. He is forcing them to face starvation and exhaustion to achieve the goal of building a windmill. All this power started to corrupt Napoleon and amplify his greediness. This made him become a dictator and he started to abuse his power. “Milk and apples contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig. Napoleon convinces the animals in the farm to give him and the pigs more milk and food. He convinces them by making up scientific facts that using your brain is more exhausting than physically working all day. Since he is the smartest and one of the only ones who knows how to read, he can get away with making up facts. Once he got away with getting extra food, he decided to assert his power in harmful ways. Napoleon started to change the seven amendments of Animal Farm, which were sworn not to be changed, and started to rewrite the past. “‘It says, “No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets”. Napoleon started to change these amendments to live an easier and more lavish life for himself. He changed the amendments, so it would benefit himself and no one else, as well as to try and change the past by rewriting the amendments and putting false thoughts into animals heads, to support his himself. Therefore i can conclude that Napoleon is an autocratic leader.

Napoleon is an autocratic leader. Napoleon urinated all over Snowball’s plans for the windmill and used force to kick Snowball out of the farm so that he could be in charge of the farm, this shows that he uses forceful ways in order to get what he wants. He also forced every animal on the farm to work hard in order not to get their rations reduced, and if they did not, they would have to suffer through starvation. All these power that he gained made him more greedy and he started to use his power for bad purposes. Since him and the other pigs were considered to be smarter than all the other animals, he ordered that all animals give them more food and milk so that they would be well fed, and gave the excuse saying that he had to think a lot to improve the farm, so the use of his brain makes him very tired, and thus needs the extra milk and food. He also started to change the 7 amendments of the farm, which they had sworn to never be changed. He changed these so that the other animals would not be able to blame the pigs for breaking the rules when they saw them doing what the rules stated not to do. This allowed the pigs to do what was originally not supposed to be done like drinking alcohol, and sleeping on the beds. He also feeds the other animals with false information so that they would support him and not disobey him. Thus, Napoleon is an autocratic leader.

Napoleon is an autocratic leader. Napoleon took them away from their mothers, saying that he would make himself responsible for their education, as he thought that education of the young was very important. He then kept them in a secluded area such that the rest of the farm would forget their existence. This shows that Napoleon did not care whether the puppies’ parents agree with his thoughts and just took the puppies away from their mothers. He was also cruel as he did not seek permission from the puppies’ parents to take them away right after birth. Napoleon announced that there would be work on Sunday afternoons, adding that the work is strictly voluntary. However, any animal who did not work on Sunday afternoons would have his rations reduced by half. This shows that Napoleon is trying to manipulate the animals to work on Sunday afternoons, even though he mentioned that it was not compulsory. The animals would have to work on Sunday afternoons anyway as the animals rations would be reduced by half and they need it to survive

We think that Snowball is a democratic leader. Snowball had always settled with voting amongst the other animals, compared to Napoleon who went forward with his own decision. There was a lot of communication between Snowball and the other animals especially when planning the build of the windmill. Compared to Napoleon, Snowball does not dictate other animals to work extra hours. Even though both agreed to believe on “animalism” and the seven commandments which was how the farm was supposed to be run. The sentence, “Snowball was a more vivacious pig than Napoleon, quicker in speech and more intentive, but was not considered to have the same depth of character.” shows that Snowball doing so much circulated mainly around helping the farm. Snowball cared for the animals’ health and did not strain them too much, giving them sufficient food and water to eat and drink. Snowball cared for the people and their honest people and did not manipulate them like Squealer or Napoleon in the story.

We think that Napoleon is an autocratic leader. This can be seen when Napoleon uses the nine ferocious dogs to implement fear into the other animals on the farm and make them comply the rules implemented by Napoleon and Squealer. This shows that Napoleon demands compliance from the other animals, even going to the extent of threatening them to get his way. Another evidence is that over time, the animals work so hard to build the windmill to the extent that they are constantly exhausted, all for Napoleon. This can be seen as despite all of their hard work, the windmill is named after Napoleon, as if he has done all the work. Thus, this shows that Napoleon orders the animals around in order to accomplish his goal of building the windmill. Lastly, this can be seen in “Then a sheep confessed to having urinated in the drinking pool — urged to do this, so she said, by Snowball — and two other sheep confessed to having murdered an old ram, an especially devoted follower of Napoleon, by chasing him round and round a bonfire when he was suffering from a cough. They were all slain on the spot.” This shows that Napoleon immediately kills any animals who were known to be traitors or against Napoleon, disregarding the lives of the animals as he simply kills them without thinking about giving them a second chance or sparing them. Therefore, Napoleon is an autocratic leader.

we think that napoleon is an autocratic leader. Napoleon uses the dogs to instil fear in the other animals when they refuse to comply with his order. This shows that he demands obedience. Furthermore, if any animals wanted to rebel against him and his orders, he would use his dogs to his advantage and threaten to hurt the animals. This would cause the animals to always obey him due to the fear. In addition to that, if the animals did rebel or betray him, they would receive an execution. This shows that he uses force to control the animals. Therefore, we think that napoleon is an autocratic leader due to the way he leads the animals.

Napoleon is an autocratic leader. This can be seen from, “This work was strictly voluntary, but any animal who absented himself from it would gave his rations reduced in half.” Napoleon halved the rations for the animals who did not work extra time on the windmill. Napoleon also forced the animals to work harder or face starvation as the rations available were already so small. He was forcing them to work until they were exhausted to achieve the goal of building a windmill. Secondly, this can be seen from, “Milk and apples (this has been proved by science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig.” Napoleon convinces the animals in the farm to give him and the pigs more milk and food. He further convinces them by making up scientific facts. Since he is the smartest and one of the only ones who knows how to read, he can get away with making up facts. Thirdly, this can also be seen from when Napoleon started to change the seven amendments of Animal Farm,“‘It said, “No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets.” Napoleon changed the amendment so that he could live a more comfortable life without caring about the other animals’ opinion. Finally, after committing many selfish and immoral acts, he starts to kill the animals on the farm. He changes the amendment about animals not killing other animals and kills any animal who has made a small mistake. Hence, I can tell that Napoleon is an autocratic leader

Napoleon is an autocratic leader.

When the hens had just laid their eggs, Napolean ordered that the hens “surrender their eggs” as he had “accepted through whyper, a contract for four hundred eggs a week”. He did not care about how the hens would feel for their young to be sacrificed and did not listen to their opinions and pleads. Neither did he ask the hens if they would like to surrender the eggs, which shows that he is domineering and makes decisions without asking others first.

Similarly, Napoleon ordered that the newly rebuilt windmill be named Napoleon Mill. He did not ask the animals what they thought of it or any other suggestions they had even though they were the ones who had put their time and effort into building the windmill. This shows that Napoleon does not ask for everyone’s opinion first before making a decision.

From “stated that snowball had appeared to them in a dream and incited them to disobey Napolean’s orders. They, too, were slaughtered.” “Dream” i something that may not be true and has not happened in real life, yet Napolean still decide to kill the three hens. This shows how cruel napolean is, an that he uses violence to get his own way, to demonstrate the power that he hold so that no one dares to cross his path.

This can be seen when he commands the hens to surrender all the eggs they laid so that he would be able to profit from selling or trading the eggs. When he did this, he did not consider if the hens would agree, and even if the hens did not agree, he still forced them to give up their eggs. When the hens refused to give up their eggs, napoleon got angry, and implemented a harsh punishment which in turn caused 9 hens to die. Only after that did the remaining hens give up their eggs. Also, he seized 9 puppies from their mothers so that he could train them as his guards, and used them to scare the animals and also to force them to comply. Thus, napoleon is an autocratic leader.

We believe that Snowball is a visionary leader. Snowball read the seven commandments aloud when it was first introduced solely for the benefit of others as he knew that they had not learned to read. This shows that he cared about the knowledge that the rest of the animals acquired and wanted them to be aware of its existence. By having the animals gain the said new knowledge, the farm would be in more order and hence, bring them the peace and freedom they had been longing for. Not only that, when Snowball realised that the animals did not care for learning the alphabet, he simplified the seven commandments into six words, “four legs good, two legs bad”. This further illustrates the determination that Snowball had into bringing the farm success without humans. Therefore, we think that Snowball is a visionary leader.
