Being an outcast means you don't fit in to any of the groups. Looking different or acting a certain way can make you an outcast. Society needs outcasts because that is what makes us so diverse. I felt bad because everyone already knew each other for half the year and I didn't. Outcast means that you dont necessarily fit in and are having trouble making friends. If you are weird or dont act how people think you should act and you would be considered an outcast. Society must have outcasts because it has specific groups of everything. I felt that way because I'm positive that no one would feel comfortable if you had someone you don't know and never talk to you, stare at you.  The word outcast means someone who has been rejected or ignored by others.
