If the kids are having a rough day I can reach out to the parents through remind or set up a one on one hangout with that student.  It also allows me to then keep some of my struggling learners to do small groups with. The kids are already there in the meeting so we just say good bye to those who have groups later in the day and I keep my below level kids so they don't have an excuse not to show up later.

Students would get their work done at all hours of the day and to keep up with their progress, I would find myself checking work late at night to give credit. One thing I started doing to help in that area, was establishing a time with the parents on when I would check work.
