It is what we listen to in our cars. It is what we listen to when we feel sad or lonely or like the quiet is too much to bear. It is the reason to have a dance party, by yourself, in your bedroom, at 3 am. Music makes life a little less boring. But it's so much more than these things! Artists like James Taylor and Garth Brooks, musicals like Waitress, Rent, and Hamilton, and bands like ACDC and Metallica have helped to mold me into the person I am today. Country and rock have become my genre, my anthem, my heartbeat. Music has quickly become my favorite subject to study. It effects our lives in more ways then we could possibly imagine. I remember after my first major breakup, music was the only thing that could make me smile. On the contrary, it could make me break down at any moment if I happened to play the wrong song that hit a little too close to home. Music is the backbone for who we were, who we are, and who we will be.
