<title>Question 4 Who would be the audience for your media production? The ideal target audience for our thriller opening sequence would be both male and females varying between the age ranges, 15-25. This demographic is suitable because we would expect the psychographic of students to be the audience to most likely enjoy watching thriller films. This is because teenagers and young adults are mature enough to understand the thrilling and mysterious connotations the opening gives. https://www.powtoon.com/presentoons/cI7HdIGV5mk/edit/#/Also when researching our target audience we used IMDB (International Movie Data Base) and BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) to find out what age certificate our thriller may get. We used IMDB to understand what rating existing films have. We looked at the One Hour Photo and Then Boy Next Door as these films both include the themes of stalkers. One hour Photo trailer has the rating 12 and the film has the rating of 15 because of the strong language and the moderate language. And The Boy Next Door contains very strong language and very strong violence therefore it is certified a 15, there is also some strong sex. After analysing these films that had a similar theme to ours we then went on to decide what certificate our opening would be given. We used the guidelines provided and the films we had already looked at. We decided that our opening would get either a 12 or 15 because the final scene in the opening shows the protagonist being strangled this means that the violence is moderate and the scene does not dwell or focus on the detail. Also the scenes with the diary entries and photos could reflect moderate threat, psychological threat in particular but the tone of the threat is not overly disturbing however it is frequent and sustained. There is no bad language, drug use, nudity/sex or discrimination involved in the opening sequence. However imitable behaviour could be considered as the antagonist/stalker could be promoted as potentially dangerous behaviour in which children are able and likely to copy. As a result the age rating doesn’t affect the target audience as the rating is not too high but in this case possibly too low. There would be no impact on the audience as there are no problems caused by this. </title>
