When was RealPlayer first released? The first version of RealPlayer was introduced in April 1995 as RealAudio Player, one of the first media players capable of streaming media over the Internet.

What is it? RealPlayer is a cross-platform media player by RealNetworks that plays a number of multimedia formats including MP3, MPEG-4, QuickTime, Windows Media, and multiple versions of proprietary RealAudio and RealVideo formats.

advantages

· Media Browser based on Internet Explorer which allows web browsing while playing media. This makes the music player a full hub for everything you could need at one

· Playlist editor similar to other media players, supporting "drag and drop" and playlist randomize.

· Visualizations - graphical animations or "light shows". Five are included with RealPlayer set-up. Others are available from RealNetworks, including a 3D Visualization Plug-In Surreal.FX.

· Continuous Play (Loop multiple songs) and Shuffle Play (Play tracks randomly; however, RealPlayer will select the random tracks in sequence e.g. Track 1, Track 5, Track 2, Track 6, Track 3 etc.).

· Stay on top while playing option.

· Recording audio, (RealPlayer Plus only) which records audio via a sound card.

· Video Download - version 11 for Windows and OS X allow users to download Flash Video files from sites such as YouTube. Past versions of RealPlayer have been criticized for containing adware and spyware. In 1999 security researcher Richard M. Smith dissected some of RealJukebox's network traffic and discovered that it was sending a unique identifier with information about the music titles to which its users were listening. The RealPlayer Message Center has caused controversy due to its pop-up advertisements

When was Silverlight first released and by whom? The first version was released in 2007 by Microsoft; the latest version was released on 9 December 2011. It is compatible with multiple web browsers used on Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. Mobile devices, starting with Windows Phone and Symbian (Series 60) phones, were expected to be supported in 2010

What is Silverlight? Microsoft Silverlight is an application framework for writing and running rich Internet applications, with features and purposes similar to those of Adobe Flash.

Dynamic Hypertext Markup Language is a combination of technologies including

Document Object Model (DOM), Scripts, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and XHTML
What does the "Dynamic" part of the name allow?
It changes static" HTML page content, after the page has been fully loaded and during the viewing process
Examples include:
·Animate text and images in their document, independently moving each element from any starting point to any ending point, following a predetermined path or one chosen by the user.

·Embed a ticker that automatically refreshes its content with the latest news, stock quotes, or other data.

·Use a form to capture user input, and then process and respond to that data without having to send data back to the server.

·Include rollover buttons or drop-down menus.
With which browser was it introduced? - IE4
Advantages?

1.Fast and Zippy: - DHTML loads content on fly. Your whole page does not loads but only the content part that needs to be altered, so saving the crucial time for the users and giving the snazzy look to the website.

2. Plug-ins, we don't need them:- DHTML uses most of the features already present in the browsers, so there is no need to download any sort of Plug-ins.

3. Great Utility:- The dynamic features possessed by DHTML are helping web designers to create Web pages that posses compact looks, downloads fast, have graphic effects, provides greater functionality and can hold much more text or content all at the same time.

Disadvantages?

1. Costly Editing tools: - although DHTML provies great functionality but the editors' available for that in market are pretty expensive. Examples of DHTML editors are Dreamweaver and Fusion.

2. Long and Complex coding: - DHTML coding is long and complex. Only the expert Javascript and HTML programmers can write them and edit them with good degree of functionality.

3. Browser Support problems: - DHTML suffers from browser support problems for different browsers. For example, a code written for Netscape might not work in Internet Explorer and Vice-Versa. The problem arises due to the different features of browsers.
The snazzy look? The crucial time? this are thing you want. U want it muchly, very so fast and zippy
