second pic:
it depicts a couple sitting in their living room, but although they're sitting together they aren't conversing at all. The man seems distressed, which we can tell by his hunched back and worried visage. I don't think they have the best relationship.

The style of the painting is impressionism. My eyes are immediately drawn to the huge door, and then the two seemingly disconnected characters. I think it's because the door is symbolised as a major obstacle in their relationship, it's as if there's a visual barricade between their thoughts and feelings. The atmosphere created is loneliness, as the characters don't seem to have a familial connect. 

They're suggesting that the relationship isn't perfect. The room seems big, and it's as if the characters are a small insignificant part of a huge cage they're trapped in. The painting seems to say that life is cold and lonely, and sometimes relationships don't work out for the best. Maybe they were going to go out, but they got into an argument, or the man had some other issues, so they cancelled the plan and they're now sitting in slight distress.

The second thing I looked at was the scenery which included dense trees, sun dawning and a man. Oh, and the gas station was called Mobilgas.

2nd Picture - I believe that it is a man and wife enjoying an evening together where he is reading a newspaper and she is playing the piano out of boredom. The settlement in the picture had light emitting from within, and it appeared to be a painting in the late evening because of the lack of sunlight.
The grass and trees were bright orange and green respectively.

- business should be low (generally) because it is quite secluded. This explains why the station is so small
- seems to be working by himself
- well-dressed - indicating either a value for etiquette or strict uniform regulations. The lighting and colour portrayed that he was in the night, the colors of the dark and subtle background gave emphasis to the man filling up gas.

- The woman seems to be bored. She sits beside the piano but does not actually paint it. Maybe, just maybe, this painting is a representation of the "I hate my wife" meme.
- The painting may also represent how a majority of women in that climate were housewives. The man is engaged in his own ordeals, but the woman seems to be bored and left to herself.

My eyes were first drawn to the two people in the room, the paintings on the wall and the piano - maybe because I play the piano too.
It seems that the pair have known each other for a while, and it seems to be in their routine to sit in the room together to spend time together, but the man does not actually seem interested in listening to the piano - he's reading a paper instead. Although there are two people in the picture - sitting in comfortable silence - there is still is a disconnect and feeling of loneliness. The woman isn't actually playing the piano either, just fiddling with the keys out of what appears to be boredom.
