MATHS

This week

This week, students will be learning about symmetry, movement and rotation. They will be identifying how objects can rotate, how many lines of symmetry an object or shape has. Key words: clockwise, anticlockwise, rotation, movement, symmetry. Students used translucent paper to draw their shape and rotate it, to help understand the difference between quarter turn, half turn and full turn.

Next week

Next week, students will continue learning about rotation on a clock and rotation of different shapes. They will be revising for the Unit 15 Test: Symmetry, Position and Movement. Test will be on Monday 14th April

SCIENCE

This week

This week, students learned the following topics and performed these tasks:

a) Unit 6.1 : Where do we use electricity

b) Unit 6.2 : Keep safe with electricity and parts of a circuit

Learned vocabulary words: safe, protect, wall socket, plug, power station, switch, wire, lamp, flow and circuit. A printed Cambridge worksheet was sent and filed , please check on that.

Next week

Next week the students will:

a) Unit 6.3 : Making circuits (limited to cells, wires and lamps)

b) Unit 6 revision

c) Schedule of unit 6 test will be APRIL 22-26, 2024

Note: TENTATIVE End of Semester 2 test in Science will be May 9, 2024
