by Adrian Bernárdez Pintos (Spain) - adrianbpintos@gmail.com

Time: 15.45 - 16:30

Description
The idea behind this workshop is developing better understanding of a position that people are playing (as representatives) from a participative process. This idea wants to dig in the role that people who work in Participation have to develop many times working as a ‘’bridge’’ or a "channel" trying to preserve the resulting idea of a participative process in front of the ‘’institution’’ or another context where you have to transfer all this information. It is interesting to learn together how we reflect about forgetting our pride and self-opinion in terms of being concerned about a biggest idea that was the ‘’fair’’ result of a ‘’democratic’’ process. It is interesting to hear the opinion of the people who was represented by this spokesperson/representative, if they are happy about the performance. The workshop will remark the process, if we were performing in a democratic way of working during the information reaching point; we need to trust in our process, understand that all the demands and information that we have are the most precious outcome for showing an specific reality. Then we should be convinced that when we have to represent people; we have relevant and valuable things to say.

We work with real events and situations from Sofia region. The case is about a local parliament members who are supposed to decide which local youth club should get financing - the Athlets ot Mathlets. That simulation of local parliament is a good way for young people to get an idea about the job of public bodies and about the cases, they are facing every day. The young people can be active if they have the knowledge of the decision making process, for the structure of administration structure and competence.
