As she grows old enough for baby food, she has a diet with much variety; the main focus being fruits and vegetables. By the end of her first year, she is learning to feed herself and is introduced to more solid foods.
Sleep Pattern: Charlie is sleeping an average of thirteen hours a day, including three naps. She spends about five hours in REM sleep. Charlie sleeps by herself. (Santrock, 2015)

Her favorite thing to do is play with her kitchen set and have tea with stuffed animals at preschool. This type of imaginative play with her classmates shows that she is mimicking her gender role. She is still a little bit egocentric, in the fact she wants what she wants. Her school mates are very important to her cognitively at this point in her development. Her language continues to develop as she learns new things at preschool. She is able to construct clearer and full sentences. She can also tell a story about her day at preschool. However, she still makes errors in her wording by saying things like, "bestest." Her teacher says she is a great student that follows all of the classroom rules and is a joy to have everyday.

Charlie’s self-regulation and reasoning skills have greatly improved since the onset of puberty. In her brain, the corpus callosum, limbic system, and prefrontal cortex have matured greatly, which has a huge impact on her reasoning and self-regulation skills (Santrock, 2015). According to Piaget, Charlie is in the formal operational stage of her development (Santrock, 2015). She thinks more abstractly and idealistically. Though she has an increased capacity for higher mental functioning she does not use these new skills in every situation in her life as an adolescent, she places too much importance on being viewed as cool and hot by those around her, but she does not obsess over it as much as she did during her early adolescence. This change from being very focused on her outward appearance to being more content is supported by research following gender identity. At the beginning of adolescence there is more of a focus on body image and others perception of oneself then gradually evens out into confidence and contentment in their own gender in later adolescence (Oswalt, 2010). Charlie has also picked up some new vocabulary, well, slang terms the kids use these days. Her favorite word is fire. Everything is fire!!!

She has experienced many behaviors and moods since her hormone increase. Charlie has a complex perception of her body image. She goes between loving her appearance to hating the way she looks. Research says that the physical changes from puberty is essentially the trigger in the further development of her gender identity which will also affect her socially, and cognitively (Oswalt, 2010) .

Sexual: During this time, Charlie has been experimenting with sexual things.

Smith family funeral is being held for Charlie, Tristan, and Ezra.

Charlie Jupiter Smith passed away on September 23, 2090 in Augusta, Georgia at the age of 72 along with her husband and son.

Visitation will be held at Powell Family Funeral home in Augusta, Georgia on September 25, 2090 from 3-6 pm.

Charlie was born in Augusta, GA to her parents on August 8. She graduated high school and went to Sanford to get a master’s degree in Psychology. Charlie had her own private practice in adolescent counseling/therapy. Charlie loved her job as a therapist, and loved her career change to a teacher later in life.

It was an unfortunate tragedy that she was killed in a house fire started by her former patient John Jenkins. He was obsessed with Charlie as she was once his therapist. When she retired from being a therapist to start teaching, Mr. Jenkins went on a rampage and started stalking her. He found out where she lived and her routine in life. He wanted her to be his own. Jenkins thought September 25 was the best day to talk to Charlie. Charlie was confronted and was very distraught by the fact that he had been following her. She called the police and had a restraining order filed against John. John thought that if he went to see Charlie one more time, she may change her mind and he could have her all to himself. Charlie opened the door to let John in and explained to him that he was no longer allowed to see her. He got upset and left, but soon returned with a gas tank and matches. John Jenkins set the Smith home on fire. Charlie, Tristan and Ezra were all killed by smoke inhalation from the fire and died on the scene. John was found charged as guilty, but mentally ill and is now facing life in prison for his actions.

There is no family left of the Smith’s, but their impact on the community was great and they are greatly missed by their community.

At 21, Charlie has very high self-esteem. She has the "I'm hot and popular" mindset, an attitude that is perpetuated by her being well liked by almost everyone she meets. Her social life is very active. She has a wide variety of friends from school, work, and parties. In early adolescence, Charlie has become very interested in more feminine associated things such as doing her make-up, dressing more to her feminine figure, and heavily dieting all in attempt to be more appealing to guys and get approval from other girls. As Charlie gets further in adolescence, she becomes more comfortable with her image and starts wearing lighter make-up, more comfortable casual wear, and going for jogs instead of over dieting to keep her preferred figure more so for herself then others. This progression according to Oswalt is due to the further development of her gender identity (Oswalt, 2010)

Since meeting Bree in high school, Charlie has made a habit of making questionable decisions. She picked up smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol, and experimenting with drugs. Though her social life is ever expanding, from going to parties constantly and many casual romances, Charlie begins to feel a sense of loneliness among the crowd.
Charlie is almost never home and rarely spends time with her parents. She tends to act out hoping to get their attention and cause them to show more concern, but this is usually not the case. Although she rebels, it is not to intentionally disappoint her parents. She just wants them to prove to her that they actually care about her. She has made a habit of using alcohol, sex, and drugs to cope with the feelings of inadequacy caused by her parents.

The stage in Erickson's psychosocial theory that comprises the early childhood stage is initiative versus guilt. Charlie is entering preschool at this time and with this, her social world is widening significantly. In preschool she is expected to show responsible and purposeful behavior. When she doesn't carry this behavior, feelings of guilt may begin to arise and she may feel anxious. For example, if she were to have a temper tantrum in class and all the other children are just looking at her watching her behave badly.

Charlie started high school and fell in with the wrong crowd when she met her best friend Bree. Charlie and Bree go to parties a lot. Bree's mother allows them both to drink when at home and also allows boys to come over frequently. There is very little supervision and parental control at Bree's home. Charlie and Bree have both been experimenting with drugs. Charlie's grades have started faltering in school due to the adverse behavior she has begun taking part in. Charlie is barely ever home, staying with Bree or floating between different guys' houses.

Once Charlie graduated high school, she and Bree went their separate ways. Charlie realized that she wanted to do more with her life. She wanted to help young adolescents who struggle with life, so she decided to pursue a psychology degree to become a therapist. Charlie met her husband, Tristan, in her last year of college and they began their relationship. They dated for 7 years before Tristan proposed, and they were married a year later; Charlie was 31. After 2 years, Charlie and Tristan had their son, Ezra. Tristan stays at home as a well-known author. His working from home definitely helped with raising their son, Ezra. Charlie began in her career at 24 and is excelling in her career path. She now has her own private practice for youth/adolescent therapy. She loves her job and family and finds herself in a very good place in her life as it is.

Charlie decided she no longer wanted to have her own private practice around 55. She decided that she wanted to begin teaching psychology so she became a professor at a small community college in her area. Now at 68, she's been teaching for 13 years. She's well established at the college and her students admire her and love taking her classes. She has encouraged many students to do what they want to do and has also formed many close relationships with her students. Charlie alternates between teaching different psychology classes. She likes to provide her students with the opportunity to take the entire psychology degree program with her as a professor, so she's able to form those close relationships and inspire and teach her students throughout their school career in the psychology department.
