20% of the population has dyslexia. People with dyslexia excel in entrepreneurship, engineering, architecture, and the arts. The have an extremely tough time with phonetic decoding. This is the ability to identify a word and create a sound of it. When dyslexic people are introduced to the subject of reading, and have a very difficult time doing it, they feel an extraordinary amount of shame. This video also talks about how people with dyslexia get lower self esteem because they are told to "try harder", but they are doing the best they can. This low self esteem is put on them by people who do not fully understand this disorder. Kids with dyslexia are very determined and that is why the succeed enormously in those categories.

There is no specific treatment or drug that can cure dyslexia. First, its important that the child gets a proper education, and their teachers are aware, so they can help the child to succeed. Second, phonemic awareness helps the child to recognize sounds and words, and this will help them out in the long run. Third, is vocabulary instruction. This will help the child to remember vocabulary, and this will help them to express themselves better. Finally, is training in language fluency. This will help the child to be able to rad out loud and write the words better.

Summary

Dyslexia is a common disorder in children that unfortunately affects them in a negative way. The struggles of dyslexia causes children to struggle with reading, writing, and comprehending. This causes them to be delayed in school because they are slower reader, and it is hard for them to connect words together, and then remember them. Having dyslexia also can cause children to have lower self esteem because they a5e made fun of for not being able to read as fast. Many cases have shown that children feel they are not worthy because they have this disability, and this is not true at all. If you are a person with dyslexia the words on the page look extremely jumbled up, and almost 3-D looking, and that is why it is hard to comprehend these words. There is not actual cure or medication to cure dyslexia. The proper actions to be taken should be having a special teacher help your child. This way, they can learn at there own pace, and not feel pressured to have to catch up with everyone else. Having a special teacher will also give them someone to talk to if they feel like they can not talk to their parents about it. This special teacher would help them to read and write better, and they would also help them to memorize words, and in the long run, this will help them to advance their reading skills. If you are worried about your child having dyslexia you should watch out for the following symptoms, messy hand writing, spelling errors, trouble putting thoughts on paper, and any difficulties with reading. Overall, dyslexia can be a disorder that is pretty frustrating, but with the right help, and the right mentoring, it can be fixed to an extent. It is important not to give up, and to keep believing, and telling yourself that you can do it.
