Squiggle Early Learning Programme

Is a developmental approach to early writing. Its ideally for children working in early years but it can be used as a writing intervention with children from their earliest stages of mark making and physical development right in to Year 1.

Squiggle uses neurological and physiological movements to create marks. The ‘how to Squiggle’ is beautiful in its fun and simplicity.

OLOG Compaints Policy

Who should parents/carers contact if they have a complaint about the SEN provision?

If a parent has any concerns about their child’s learning they should initially speak to the class teacher who will meet with them to discuss their concerns. The SENDCo or a member of the Senior Leadership Team may be invited to this meeting.

If a parent is dissatisfied with the opportunities available to their child or progress being made an appointment should be made to speak to the SENCo who will help with any issues raised.

Most concerns can be resolved within the school but if the issue is not concluded to a parent’s satisfaction they should follow the school’s complaints procedure.

David Bartram OBE Visit Report

David was a member of the Department for Education’s SEND Review steering group and an expert advisor to the Timpson Review on school exclusions.

David is author of the SEND Review Guide, a national framework funded by the DfE. In 2018 he edited Great Expectations, Leading an Effective SEND Strategy in School, published by John Catt Educational.

He was Director of SEND at the London Leadership Strategy and an advisor to the Mayor of London’s education team. As part of his international work he has supported the development of Inclusion policy in a number of countries

David was awarded an OBE for Services to Special Education in the 2016 New Year’s Honours list.

He audited St Helen's provision in April 2026 please see attached for his report.
