A few moments later - a shot" The reason Alan was brought to the point where he committed suicide was because of Blanche finding him in middle of an affair with another person. If she had not found that out, things would have probably ended differently. When we look into the psychology of being found out during sex, specially back in those times, it was a huge deal since marriage was such a sacred thing to keep in tact and that homosexuality is a giant act of blasphemy. When the play was published the idea of her husband being homosexual and breaking your marriage with an affair would create an enormous impact on the audience stupefied and slightly grosses them out.</div>]]></description>
