The CDC also says, “Educate staff and families about when they/their child(ren) should stay home and when they should return to school.” This includes if they/their child(ren) show symptoms of COVID-19 or if they have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19. In south korea on wednesday schools opened and after two students had covid 19 closed. This isn’t safe because we have seen doctors and nurses become sick from patients, meating hundreds of people a day and overtime we could spread covid 19 in a second wave like the first. After the two students had been reported to have covid 19 the school closed. The government is spending millions to open schools and give them cleaning utensils but in the end they won’t mean anything if they are never used.

In this time of hardship students lives have been turned upside down. This can’t go on forever, and although we may never go back to our “normal” lives with certain safety precautions we will get as close to our normal lives as we can. Previously we had very few precautions to prevent diseases from spreading. That can and will definitely change. If we implement precautions like using hand sanitizer, constantly washing our hands, not sharing items and keeping a distance we can prevent the spread of disease. The CDC suggests that in order for us to get to go back to a classroom inside a school several precautions and measures will need to be added. These measures must be included since sending students back to the classroom puts everyone attending school at the highest risk category.  There are so many precautionary measures but some that affect students include staying home when appropriate, using good hygiene and respiratory etiquette, cloth face covering, adequate supplies (no sharing), signs and messages posted around the school as reminders of requirements.  Other schools have already started back around the world using some of these measures, because until we know more about this virus a way to help stop the spread we must do all we can, so we can get back to a “somewhat normal” life that we knew before covid 19.  For example one way South Koreans changed to adapt to the virus is that set up plastic barriers at lunch to separate each students while eating lunch together. Another possible new normal for us will be getting our temperature checked like they also did in South Korea and China before entering the school building.
