This relates to the character Rose from fences is because her dream was to have a family that is whole, with no other baby mama's and such. Troy took away that dream for her, when he decided to cheat and have a baby with another woman. It also put the load on Rose because she ended up raising Raynelll, the baby. Troy did a lot for his family because he loved them, but Rose also provided for her family. She probably wanted to have a break as well, since she spent 18 years with Troy she was dedicated to him. But she never cheated. Troy had an affair with another woman and his excuse was, that he needed to have time for himself, that his mistress made him forget he had responsibilities.
