The purpose of my trip was to begin to remove large items from my Great Aunt's home. I also had a deadline to finish my application to a new program at UDC. I had WORK to do. I saw the activity and decided to book it for 9 am. What I learned from this is that I need to make time for new adventures. I also learned that I don't have to subscribe the narratives people may have. The transfer to the classroom is that students are often scared to try new things because they have adopted certain narratives about themselves. I have to make sure they are in safe place to try new things just like the falconer modeled the skill and stood by making sure I felt supported and safe.
