Activating the next steps in support for Jaylen is critical. Reacting to the behavior is clearly not yielding results. Working with guidance/student services to help create goals for the students is necessary. There needs to be a plan put in place to assist Jaylen and the teacher in this scenario. There also needs to be documentation that Jaylen's plan is being implemented with fidelity.

As the leader, it would not be an actionable plan for myself, but it is for individuals that are responsible for supporting this student, and in turn the teacher. As a leader, I will follow-up with the progress of consistent support and interventions put in place.

For student services, this would be an actionable concern. The teacher is struggling supporting her class as a whole, but then there are legal obligations for the disruptive student, So a plan needs to be put in place to support all.

To address the situation, I would reach out to Jaylen's other teachers to see if they share the same concerns as Ms. Johnson. Next, I would set up a meeting with the parents, Ms. Johnson, Jaylen, and our ESE Specialist to see if an intervention like a point sheet with a goal to earn something can be put in place to ensure we are supporting Ms. Johnson and Jaylen.
