to see how far you’ve come. How are you doing? Are you in school? Are you working? Are we where we’ve dreamed we would be?

I hope that whatever hardship you’ve encountered, you’ve managed to overcome. I hope you worry less about the things you can’t control and focus more on living in the moment. And remember that everything will happen in God's perfect timing.

More than anything, I hope that with how far you've come, you are proud of yourself, because I certainly am. Never forget to be kind and compassionate to the people around you. I hope that you give as much love to the ones you love as I do right now, and always remember that when facing difficulties, your friends and family will always be there for you.

Infancy

I was a healthy Valentina baby born into a supportive and loving family. My mom told me that the nurses who took care of me and my mom wanted to name me Valentina, but my mom decided not to because she said that Valentina was a villain in a famous Filipino comic, Darna. Fun fact, my mom was expecting me by the end of February, not exactly February 14, so it was surely a surprise to them when her doctor told her she needed to go into labor.

Early Childhood

When I was a toddler, I remember how my family and I were always out of the house, and my brothers and I would always have fun. During my early childhood, I had my first haircut, which included bangs, and I was also being potty-trained. I was growing up to be a shy and quiet kid, who was only comfortable and loud with my family.

Preschool Years

I was officially going to school! I recall being so shy when I first entered the classroom, and I would always look by the classroom door to see if my dad was still there and how badly I already wanted to go home. But after a few weeks of being in school, I made a few best friends, and we learned and had fun together.

Elementary School Years

Throughout these years, I learned how to bake, slice vegetables, paint, dance, and sing. In one of the early years of this stage, I met a few of my best friends with whom I’m still friends now. One memory I can’t forget in this stage is the day when my favorite headband, which I wore every single day, broke, which made little me so heartbroken.

Adolescence

Currently in my adolescent stage, I have experienced peer pressure, an identity crisis, stepped out of my comfort zone, learned how to drive, and much more. I've learned from those experiences and have made so many more good memories; they've made me who I am today, and I am grateful for them. Of course, I wouldn't have gotten through those experiences without the support and love of my friends and family, to whom I will forever be thankful.

The subject Personal Development was really helpful for me because it led me to know more about myself. It helped me know my strengths, weaknesses, and values. It has also helped me by understanding how to properly be there for the people you love or even by the people around you. I’m grateful for this subject because it really emphasizes the importance of personal growth from knowing oneself.
My key takeaway from this subject is how mental health is just as important as physical health. It is an essential to care for oneself. But by also caring for oneself it is important to know how it is also okay to ask help from others.
Mental health and well being and knowing oneself were two of my favorite topics in this subject. This is because from knowing oneself, I got to know my personality type which was being an INFJ, it has helped me understand myself more and why I act how I act in certain situations. And for mental health and well being, I liked this topic because it explained how vital mental health is and how it affects our lives. With this topic I learned the importance of always checking up on not just the people you love but also to the people around you. It has showed me the importance of kindness and how even a little good gesture can make a person’s day.
