      <description>Robert Styron is a longtime music educator who served as director of vocal music at the Denver School of the Arts from 2014 to 2018. He taught 6th-12th graders in areas such as music theory, vocal jazz, contemporary a cappella, and musicals. Among Robert Styron’s accomplishments was serving as community liaison and guiding fundraising and outreach activities.

Leading a team of as many as a dozen visiting and resident artists, Mr. Styron oversaw a budget in the $50,000 to $120,000 range and chaired the School Budget &amp; Improvement Planning Committees. He earned Distinguished Teacher recognition for three consecutive years and was recipient of the Bobby G award in 2018 for directing the “Most Outstanding Musical” in Colorado.

Mr. Styron completed his BA and master of public administration at the University of New Orleans and pursued a graduate degree in music education at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Over the years, he has served as music director at a number of churches spanning New Orleans and Colorado. Mr. Styron has also presented in a number of public venues, including on “The Healing Power of the Voice” at the collaborative Mind / Body Connection event sponsored by several hospitals in India.</description>
