My name is Denisse Chavez. I am a senior in high school at WCPA Lost Hills. I'm a business major and hoping this class will elevate my writing skills. I love making things from drawing to crocheting, and I'm currently learning to knit too. As much as I love arts and crafts, I will say my love for learning about other cultures is higher and I feel the Japanese culture is intriguing. The language is beautiful, the way the language is written is elegant, and how it connects with Chinese makes it so unique in my eyes; especially compared to English. Unlike America, Japan is a place filled with more peace and quiet, and people are more respectful and reserved. My dream destination is Shibuya, Japan because one of my favorite shows takes place in Shibuya, Alice in Borderland. It is also a beautiful place. The busy streets and crowds surrounding the area are perfect for when I want to socialize and meet new people. Overall, Japan is one of a kind. Reading is the opposite of how we read, their cars place the wheel on the right side, and the food looks really good. I love the differences between our countries and I really hope to visit Japan soon.

My favorite place on earth is Guanajuato, Mexico because it’s very peaceful. When I’m there I’m stress free and my only focus is enjoying my visit. When I’m visiting I’m not only there for the family but also the little towns like Cueramaro and Abasolo. I love the food there especially the tacos. There are so many stores and everyone just gets to walk around and see the views of the stores. People are always out and I think it’s nice to see everyone enjoying the city. Guanajuato is so pretty to me, it looks historical which is what I love most about it.

My Favorite place on earth to visit would be Santa Monica, CA. It's my favorite place because I just love everything about it: the sand, ocean, pier, food, stores, and vendors. I love these things about Santa Monica because it's nothing like the valley, where everything feels enclosed. At Santa Monica, I get to enjoy the fresh air, warm sand, and ocean view while enjoying a burger with fries and a milkshake from my favorite place, Pier Burger.

My dream destination I would like to visit is Krog Street Tunnel in Atlanta Georgia. I’d like to visit this location because it’s a well- known graffiti tunnel. It's colorful street art is another reason why I’d like to visit. It showcases the local artist creativity through the colorful murals, paintings on the walls, and graffiti. I am also interested to learn about the backstories of the various works of art and the artists that created them. It is also a way to express yourself freely through art in the Krog Street Tunnel. It is a space where local artists can build up creativity and showcase their talents without breaking the law in other areas. This would still bring beauty and inspiration to the community while respecting the boundaries of legality. I’m really passionate about graffiti/street art or any sort of art that involves it. 

I really love music, it's my whole life. Some of my favorite bands are Metallica, Black Veil Brides, Type O Negative, Korn, Kid Rock, Andy Black and some others.

I hope to become a teacher when I graduate, I'd like to either teach kindergarten/first grade, or High School English.

My favorite place on earth is Taiwan. A lot of my family lives there and I would maybe like to move there one day. There are a lot of cool places to visit such as night markets, temples, and the country side. The food there is really good especially at night markets or street vendors.
