Symbolises the early awareness young girls are forced to have about danger in public space. The glance captures the moment fear becomes a reflex. Even at school age, walking home alone at night is a site of unease, a place where safety cannot be assumed.

Fear never truly dissipates. Even in later life, women navigate night time public space with caution. The repetition of the graffiti setting, positions this location as a site of accumulated memory. There is generational continuity in women’s experiences of threat.
