Day of the Dead is holiday mostly and strongly celebrated in Mexico. It is a celebration that consists of two days which is November 1st and November 2nd. It is believed that the gates of heaven open at midnight on October 31st and all deceased children also known as angelitos are allowed to reunite with their families for 24 hours. On November 2nd, the deceased adults come to earth to celebrate and enjoy the festivities prepared for them. "...a typically Latin American custom that combines indigenous Aztec ritual with Catholicism, brought to the region by Spanish conquistadores. (Dia de Los Muertos is celebrated on All Saints Day and All Souls Day, minor holidays in the Catholic calendar.)" Day of the Dead celebrations are mostly celebrated in the states from Mexico City south. Which includes Michoacan, Puebla, Oaxaca, Veracruz, Guerrero, Guanajuato, Chiapas, and the Yucatan. Many Europeans roots spend the day in Mass and not having music, drinks, parties, and ceremonies.

I like to remember my favorite artist on Day of the Dead because she was Mexican also and I really wish she was still alive because of her passion towards music. Selena was born on April 16, 197, and she died March 31, 1995. The reason on why I admire her so much is because my grandpa used to listen to her songs and we used to dance together every Sunday morning. Listening to Selena brings back very good and beautiful memories back when my grandpa lived in the United States. Sadly, she was murdered by a close friend of hers. On Day of the Dead, I create a playlist of all her songs and listen to all her songs on November 2nd. I will always remember as a hard-worker, passionate, caring, and beautiful person she was before she was murdered.
