This book tells the adventure of a young boy named Adam. His fear of ghosts had led him to eternal suffering as he tend to see scary thing everywhere around him. losing hope, his parents sent him to the village to stay with his grandparents to face this superstitious feeling and fight it.  Will he manage to overcome his fear?

The purpose of this project is to create a story that resonances with the children common experiences & correlate it with the use of basic English expressions. It is also to explore how young children interact with a visualized search interface to search for storybooks by assembling the provided visual searching items and to explore the difference in visual search behaviours and strategies exhibited by Year 2 students. We believe the purpose of children’s books is to be read, and that illustrations should not defeat this purpose by being too novel or eccentric. Rather, the illustrations must legitimately help deliver the writer’s message. We subscribed to the notion that illustrations do facilitate reading, and that surrounding children with attractive books about things of interest is one of the most effective ways to stimulate learning. The illustrations in this book could facilitate the reader’s comprehension by building children’s vocabulary and allowing them to form various concepts about the world around them. Finally, our illustrated book provide a literary and cultural heritage and help in the development of appreciation and understanding of the graphic arts.

NOVELTY AND INVENTNESS

Our illustrated book enables children to relate the story with their prior knowledge and experiences as it covers some sort of common experiences that the children may have encountered during their childhood. We intend to produce a story that somehow can be closed to children's hearts and enables them to reminisce their memories. We wish to have this kind of story implemented in the syllabus of English subject for primary schools children. This book can be easily-accessed as it is also released in digital version. In relation with this 21st century learning, to which expand the opportunities for children to read and discover the amazing story.

USEFULLNESS

This innovation had the potential to be used as to be one of the sources of references which is the Common European Framework of references for Language (CEFR). In Malaysia, CEFR is used as a guidance to get the references suitable for the language learning. CEFR usually used foreign material as the references. Therefore, the creation of this innovation is an attempt to include local materials into CEFR.

COMMERCIAL IMPACT

We believe that ‘Oh No! Ghost? ‘ is great to be commercialized. We can observed the current education system for English subject which the system has adopted the syllabus from foreign country which is based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) Hence, the storybook that has been used in school is taken from foreign syllabus and the content of it is not relateble for Malaysian students. However, if our book is commercialized, it is more suitable for Malaysian students as it is based on the local context. Therefore, it is easier for the students to comprehend the storyline as they can relate the context with their own lives.

SOCIAL IMPACT

Oh No! Ghost? has an incredible influence on children’s comprehension of their own culture. This is because the story does not just enhance children’s literacy but also conveys values, beliefs, attitudes and social norms. In relation to this, children’s perception of life can be molded by reading this story. Furthermore, children learn how to behave, think and act through the examples shown by the characters who they have read in the story. The main character, Adam can set an example for these young children to realize that ghost or supernatural beings do not really exist and sometimes, it is only their imagination and negative thinking which make these beings real.
