Action Community Together - Preloved School Uniform

Set up in 2022 to continue the successful preloved school uniform service that was closing, we support children to attend school in the required uniform and financially support families during the cost of living crisis, with the added bonus of keeping waste out of landfill.

Church on Station Road offering community space: “Time Together” - 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month in the afternoons, with games, crafts & chat with tea and cakes. Plus "Tea and Toast with a Difference”, warm space and safe place on Thursday and Friday mornings.

I was previously director and grower at Hankham Organics supplying 500 veg boxes a week to the Eastbourne and Brighton area. We have 4 broad service offers around community led planning and housing, community buildings and community development. In Wealden we are working on an ESCC project called Making it Happen, asset based support for groups to find their own answers to the challenges they face.

We give out emergency food parcels to local people referred to us by agencies. We also offer onsite Citizens Advice, Community Money Advice and a Community Fridge. The cost of living crisis has had a huge impact on our service both with the amount of people we are serving and the donations we receive.
