A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness

I think this book was such a good book because it really made me feel like it was realistic and not a fantasy book. It was realistic in the way that the things that happen could really happen to us in real life. Also, I like that this book is magic realism because if it was a fantasy book they would have made a magic potion to save the mother from dying. Also, I really like how this book actually had a big meaning to it which made it really nice even though it was a sad book. So the fact that this book was just so good and I liked how he always wondered to himself why the monster came at 12:07 am. It has a really deep meaning but what I didn't like is that the monster blamed it on him about letting his mom go in the 4th tale of the monster's stories. But other than that this story I would really recommend to all of those people who like magic realistic stories and how they are plotted during the entire beginning of the story and the way they have the climax. So I recommend this book to some of my friend which have also started to like it like me. It is also such a great experience connecting with my friends that were in my Europe group because we could really relate to this book. The biggest thing about this is that it was a story that I could relate to since my brother had cancer but thankful he survived. But yeah sometimes God puts obstacles in our life to test our strength which is what he did in the book A Monster Calls. Such a great story I honestly do recommend it to all of you.

The story was about two brothers that love each other to death and both have a desire to become professional soccer players. By this they both play for the same soccer team. This story shows a lot, just because you are in poverty doesn't mean you can't be good at a sport or hobby. Money in soccer is nothing but a digit, your skills come naturally and with practice. This story shows how soccer saved two brother off the streets of Portugal.

Overall the Cultural Exchange project was a success. I did get an A on it and I got help from my family members to achieve the goals for this project. They did help me with the food and brought pizzas and drinks for everyone. I did get to learn a lot about Italy and how they are really intelligent cultured people. The importance of this project was to show or teach our classmates about different cultures and show them what we learned about our country. Italy was the country we chose out of Europe to teach about and it was a really good feeling to know so many things about a country from Europe. My group and I brought in some sparkling grape juices and even brought in some traditional food from Italy like pizza and lasagna. things I learned about my group mates in this period of a couple months is that we can achieve so many things if we put our head into it. I learned that the community can sometimes struggle to make it on time or attend a presentation but we do truly appreciate their time and effort made to come through. My group mates all did their part which was really impressive to me and we all cooperated to make this presentation an unforgettable and throughout all types of fun. The reasons this project mattered to me was because it could boost up my grade and also I love learning about new countries so thew more you learn the smarter you get on society and cultures. This project mattered to the people around me since we are all students we needed to do well on this to boost up our grades and learn/ teach about different cultures other than the United States and Mexico since we know a lot about those two countries.
