The story centres around Michael and his new friend Mina, who work together to help a mysterious stranger that Michael finds hiding in the dilapidated shed of his new house.  While helping to keep the stranger safe, they discover that he is not all that he seems.

A modern classic used in Year 6 classes across the country, Skellig is a children's novel by the British author David Almond, published by Hodder in 1998. Some of these other parents were rich, some who weren't very kind so it soon made him realise that his parents might not be so bad after all. 
Children aged 8 and older would enjoy the book, both boys and girls. It had some funny bits in it too ! I think that it is more of a book for girls but boys can still read it too.  I would recommend it to have a reading age of around 7-10 year olds because it is very exciting but may be difficult to read if you are in key stage 1. I loved the book and it is one of my favourites yet. I can’t wait to go back to school and get more of them!

This is a book all about a girl called Tiga who doesn't know she is a witch. All of a sudden she gets swooshed down a plug hole with a fairy, Fran (who is really funny) and then Tiga gets told that she is going to be in a witch wars competition!
I recommend this book for people who love magic and solving mysteries.

Rose- a Collie,
Buster- a Jack Russell,
Tiger- a ginger Tom cat.
They are the pets of two children and parents. They are very happy at their home until one day the Second World War is declared. The two children (Lucy and Robert) have to flee to Devon and leave their pets behind. The mum (Mrs Edwards) takes the pets to her friends house but the pets are sent to be put down. Will the pets make a daring escape or will they unknowingly die? Plus that's only just the start!
I would recommend this book to people who like animals and adventure.

During World war 2 Pierrot becomes an orphan. He must leave his home in Paris for a new life with his Aunt Beatrix, who is a servant in a wealthy household at the top of the German mountains. But, this isn't any house... it is the Berghof... the home of Adolf Hitler...                                 
I recommend this to 11+ as it is an older book.

Isaac L - I would recommend this book to people who like Tom Gates and Diary of a Wimpy kid books, because it is a similar layout with pictures and it's very funny. There are five other books in the series.
