I don't have many expectations for this class because I haven't taken many social studies classes in high school except for current events. We only talked about popular things happening in the news in current events class so we didn't actually touch on the structures of different governments. I expect learning about Government to be a challenge because quite honestly I'm not all that interested in most aspects of government. I might surprise myself by how interested/uninterested I become in the subject and specific parts of the subject during class.

It's great that she accepts herself and that's all the validation she needs. She makes people listen to her and I think that's great and it's important.

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

Sam Taylor is a corrupt man. Jefferson Smith is a scout leader who gets to choose who the governor will be. Smith is actually a good guy, unlike all the other politicians who surround him. Smith's goal is to get rid of the corruption and Clarissa helps him by telling him how a law is made. Then Smith decided to create a bill to get a loan from the federal government to fund an area for his scout's camp. Then it is discovered that a dam is going to be built there. Paine eventually frames Smith for trying to profit from it by lying about the land being his. Smith runs away because he finds out that Paine was against him. Saunders starts believing in Smith and encourages him to prove he's innocent. People start listening to Smith. He faints. Paine tries to commit suicide and then eventually confessed for all he put Smith through.

Creative Ideas With Support about Mr. Smith Beyond the Movie

Mr. Smith probably belonged to the Democratic party. He was more outspoken and accepting, which I tend to associate with the Democratic party. (I don't mean that conservatives aren't accepting.) He also kind of stayed true to his own opinions and didn't care much about what other thought of it (which I also associate with the democratic side). I think Mr. Smith continued to pursue his career in politics because he wanted so badly to combat all of the corruption in politics. He most wanted the good to outweigh all the bad and in order to assure that happened, he would continue to be somewhat involved in politics.

Much like Jefferson Smith, Tammy Duckworth is an underdog. Many other politicians assumed that Smith was incapable of being a good politician because his positive personality was unfit for the job. Just like Smith, Duckworth may be seen as incapable of doing her job just because she has lost both of her legs and some abilities in her right arm. Yes, they both have differences that separate them from most other politicians, but it doesn't mean they can't do the job or can't do the job as well. Their differences may actually lead them to do better at their jobs! They both also want to get rid of fraud within the government too, which is one of Smith's main goals.
https://www.tammyduckworth.com/meet-tammy/
