Science has advanced through the years and one of them is Technology. A huge step of civilization from the stone world to our Technological world to the first smartphone and the first computer. We have been relying on our devices for as long as I can remember. Technology is essential in our modern life we need our phone to get through our day, as we wake up we immediately pick up our phone to check for text messages, to get updated on social media, or to respond to electronic mail. The whole day we look down on our phones never realizing you have been doing it for hours, Even before we sleep our eyes stuck to the screens and sleep beside it. Technology has made us more selfish and separate than ever, because while it claims to connect everyone but that connection made it no better.

Technology made communication faster and convenient in every manner, but how we express ourselves to one another has been reduced to the texts on our screens to our LOL’s, ILY’s, and IKR’s. Conversing with our love ones, our friends, our relatives or our clients in conversations that were supposedly face-to-face are now Video calls, Faces that are seen in our Liquid-Crystal Display or Light-Emitting Diodes Display. Do not get me wrong I do not hate technology my point is that we stay connected online but physically offline. Our attention in what is happening around us are not noticed in this generation we all get that information in our gadgets that gives news to our surroundings to how is the weather, restaurants near my location, and parks nearest to a click of a button. We have become a machine that is being controlled by technology our loneliness is not technology’s fault, it is ours, and we made it that way. Spoiled by the riches of technology as a result of being alone mentally and physically, taken away the Internet, the network, the devices, then we become empty.

It is a choice, the decision to no longer be restrained by technology. Make friends offline speak to each other personally face-to-face with your bare eyes see their faces. Precious moments that once recalled on your phone are now kept in your memory. Visit your love ones or your relatives connect with them through their stories, their laughs, and their smile. To explore the world that was once was in your screen now can be heard, touched, smell and seen. Technology is there always no matter how long learn to balance and being alone will never be the problem. Start it with yourself and many will follow.
