Q1: Sketchbook Growth

This collage showcases my sketchbook progress starting from the beginning of the quarter. I slowly start incorporating line weight and depth into the sketches as we learn about it in class. In the last sketch, you see me vastly improving on my 1st smart goal of drawing a realistic eye. You see me practicing my 2nd smart goal of shading, in the drawing of a rose.

Q1: Artistic inspiration

We watched a video on Heather Hansen's work in class then scribbled on a paper with colored pencils. Then we went outside and did it using our whole bodies with chalk on the sidewalk. I learned from this project that its not just the finished product that matters in art, it is also the experience and what feelings/intentions you put into it. And I learned art is a great outlet to express and understand strong emotions.

So far I have learned many skills using lines, cresting depth, utilizing the whole paper, ect. I have been making good learning progress as I feel I am keeping up with the class well and I understand the concepts. The class is going very well for me so far, I am enjoying art more and more. My Number one goal is to learn to use my time better so I don't end up rushing and so I have time to fully finish my project.
