I know we say this frequently, but it’s REALLY important. I didn’t have my first AA Professor until I was in a master’s program. He was male. I didn’t have my first (and only :-/ ) AA female Professor until I was in my PhD program. My students are ALWAYS telling me how “different” I am and how much they appreciate the “different” way I structure my class and present material. It is JUST now occurring to me as I type this (wow, I feel kinda slow!
