the web page that I have been reading is based on a mum of an 11 year old girl who wanted a facebook page. after weeks of nagging her mum she finally gave in. the mum allowed the daughter to have a facebook page and kept note of her password so she could check her daughter was safe. a man made a facebook page using a young boy in a school uniform with the picture blurred, he called himself jack smith, he added lots of her friends on facebook. he began to send friendly messages, jokes. the man then got more friendly and was asking the young girl to go on a webcam. she wouldn't show herself but the man did he would masturbate on cam to the girl. after a year of online grooming the mum checked her facebook and reported it to the police. the man then got found he was grooming loads of other girls, he was charged with 38 account of grooming.

how is E-safety involved?

e-safety is involved in this by showing the dangers of what the internet and social media is dangerous. the website also says 'If you’re prepared to take the risk there is plenty of advice and information that can help to keep your child safe online. The NSPCC, Childnet, and CEOP (The National Crime Agency) all have up to date information for parents and children. Personally, I’m a hardliner when it comes to the internet now. It’s no to Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. I do not think that you can keep children safe online.'
