My name is Alyssa and I am 27 years old. I began this journey at Pacific Oaks back in May of last year. I am in the Master's in Education and Multiple Subjects Credential program, and I plan on graduating by the end of this year. I graduated from San Francisco State with a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies and a minor in History. I still attend community colleges in my area because I simply love learning. I worked as a preschool teacher for about five years, and during that time I gained some experience as an infant teacher as well. I now work at an after-school program in Half Moon Bay, CA, where I work with children in Kindergarten through the fifth grade. Most recently, I spent a few days in Miami then hopped on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship to the Bahamas. It was such an amazing experience. I finally got to experience a white sand beach and I had the opportunity to snorkel for the first time, as well as swim in the ocean alongside sea creatures like fish, jellyfish, and even a few sharks. Right now I am planning my next adventure; I plan on going to New York for the first time after the end of this course. We are a HUGE sports family, but the ultimate passion lies with the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL. My dad's family is from Pittsburgh, PA so my siblings and I have known no other team since birth. My nieces are four-years-old (5 in a few weeks) and 6 months old. I do not have children of my own but I love these two as if they are mine.
