Synopsis:

Behind the success of the film Pengabdi Satan 2, which has so far been watched by more than 5 million viewers, this film has weaknesses. Servant Satan 2 doesn't have a climax that can answer the questions you had while watching this film, when the film has 30 minutes left and it still feels like it's just a parade of jump scares and killing the characters one by one. It closes with a hanging ending, where at the end comes Budiman Syailendra who suddenly appears after appearing at the beginning of the film, then immediately he defeats all the sects instantly in a very easy way in less than 5 minutes. Ending a story that has raised many questions, without providing answers or satisfaction. Maybe some say, this film will continue in the third film.

The advantages presented by this film are packaged in presenting a tense atmosphere by taking the background of a flat where the situation in the flat is like a residential area where there are always lots of horror stories everywhere. At the opening of this film, we will be curious, in line with debutant Joko Anwar's other films, namely Gedung Bosca and Pocong rot prostration in a Raminom painting. Even though this is horror, some of the comedy included here is even more successful than the jump scares. Apart from that, other technical matters such as costumes, design and editing are also very good. The choice of clothing and make-up for a number of characters was carefully thought out, and especially the use of shrouds on the bodies of victims of elevator falls. Overall, Pengabdi Satan 2: Communion is indeed good from a visual perspective. However, in terms of storyline development, it seems reasonable to call it overrated if you look at the public interest so far.
