He journeyed to North America, of course, in search of gold. His goal was to overthrow and conquer the Spanish monarchy in Florida. He was said to be the one of the "richest men in Nicaragua." During his expedition he was able to conquer Peru. He died in 1542.

This fruit grows along vines and sprouts flowers. Though they "are often heavily armed with prickles." They commonly grow from the ground upwards.
