         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong><em>Why is there a correlation?</em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p>There is a correlation in the graph, as the CO2 levels increase, the temperature of the ice cores also rises. Although the graph does not show the same changes in CO2 levels over the years, there is an evident correlation between CO2 and the temperature of Antarctic ice cores.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em> Why doesn’t this prove causation?</em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em>It doesn't prove causation since the changes in CO2 did not directly affect the Antarctic ice core temperatures; we can only see a relationship associated with the increase in CO2 and the increase in Antarctic ice core temperatures, which is a correlation.</em></strong></p>]]></description>
