         <description><![CDATA[<div>She started a hunger strike so Stephen Harper can meet with her to discuss what she has to say.<br>Her strike lasted for 6 weeks.<br>Surviving only on water, medicine tea and fish broth.&nbsp;<br>Hardly anyone noticed what she was doing, since she is aboriginal.&nbsp;<br>People asked her to stop many times, but she refused to do so because she was not receiving what she wanted all along, which was equal rights for the First Nations.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>There has been a growing amount of people anxious to see her protests. They know well enough to leave the final decision to her. <br>The federal government, did in fact, step in.<br>She held a meeting. Although Harper and Johnston did not agree to the meeting, several other chiefs were expected.<br>She protested on Victoria island.<br>She has called on the government to respect First Nations and their treaty rights and to help communities that are facing real crises, from poverty to housing, health and education.<br>A plea that prompted dozens of reporters to helicopter in from southern locales. </div>]]></description>
