I'm Mara Kirstine Banguran, a kind-hearted person with a strong passion. I'm a student, a friend, and a daughter. Now in my twenties, an era I'll miss when I'm older because i've become reckless, a risk-taker, and an independent daughter. I've learned so much in life at a young age, I learned to appreciate everything even the small things, being alone is okay, having a hard time is part of our journey in life and learned about the importance of living. "Do what brings you joy and don't worry about what others say; life is short, so make it memorable" it's always been my motto in life . I'm also a dreamer, but sometimes I wondered why it scare me to dream big, but deep down theres a part of me that wanted to try and explore my capabilities because I know that I can do more. That's why I always remind myself that we always makes mistakes in life, so why not grab that dream and make it happen.

where did i grow up?

I was born in Valenzuela City and grew up in Balamban, Cebu. My mom is from Bicol and my dad is from Cebu; they met while working in Valenzuela City and started a family there. They later moved to Cebu for a fresh start. Life in Cebu hasn't been easy; we've had ups and downs, but I'm grateful we overcame them. I'm thankful we live in Balamban; I found a close friend here, and it's a place where I've grown and met many kind and funny people.

what is my educational background?

My educational journey began in Abucayan Elementary school, this is where I met my childhood friends, I'm also an achiever way back in elementary days . I've taken my High school at buanoy it is where I developed my communication skills and team work, It's an era where i found my homies, the ones who stayed with me and created some memorable trips. I'm currently studying in Cebu Technological University, I'm pursuing BSHM one of my dream course because of my passion in cooking. My educational journey wasn't easy i've experienced many challenges, some sleepless nights, the questioning yourself because of your capabilities, depression, and also losing spark in studying but i still do believe that God has bigger plans for me.

what are my hobbies and interests?

I love to cook and bake, It's fun trying new recipes and making yummy treats for my friends and family. When I'm not in the kitchen, I like to relax and watch movies and Korean dramas. They take me to different places and let me forget about everything else for a while. Cooking, baking, and watching shows , they're all part of my happy life.

One of my proudest accomplishments is overcoming my fear of public speaking. Participating in the Cebu Tech Talk was a huge challenge, and I'm incredibly proud of myself for having successfully navigated it. Even now, I'm amazed that I managed to do it. I'm so grateful because I felt God's guidance and support every time I felt nervous. Today, I'm still proud of myself for managing to do my task successfully and independently, even though i sometimes doubt myself but i can still gave my best in everything.

My future goals and aspirations are to become the woman I want to be. I want to travel, discover, and explore the world with my love ones, there are so many things in life I want to experience with them. I'm a woman with big dreams, and those dreams include making my family happy and proud of my achievements, even the small ones. In the near future, I want to build a bakeshop because baking is so satisfying and it brings me joy, I also want to blend my interests and career for fulfilling my daily life.

My biggest influence and inspiration in life is my parents . The strength and resilience in raising us, even in the middle of challenges, are truly awe-inspiring. I'm amazed by how they manages to balance everything, and thier dedication to our family is something I deeply admire. Whenever I feel down and tempted to give up, I think of their tireless efforts and the sacrifices they've made for us like, they are my strength and the reason for me to keep going in life. I want them to see world with me, I want to spoil and give everything they want and need, I want them to feel the real happiness without getting tired of work that's why I'm doing my best to achieve all of my dreams and goals cause I don't want them to carry all the responsibilities of our family. They are my source of inspiration, happiness and strength.

what are some fun facts about myself that others may not know?

There's nothing special about me that everyone can be surprise of, I think I'm just an ordinary person without a talent, still figuring out what is my sports and interests. Sometimes I hate myself for having a low steem, up until now i'm hesitating to do the things that i wanted. But fun facts about me is that i'm a girly girl too, it's not that obvious because I prefer wearing baggy shirts than fitted one but one of my favorite color is pink. And i cannot sleep without putting baby oil or lotion on my feet, it's been a habit since I was young. I'm also a mama's girl, I always want to see my mom everytime I'm hungry, tired and happy, her existence brightens my day.

how have these challenges shaped me as a person?

The challenges that I've experience in life thought me to be strong and everyday I told myself to not carry all the burden all at once, be kind to yourself. Facing difficulties, like our family's financial struggles, taught me the importance of hard work and resilience. I learned to be resourceful and to appreciate small things. Overcoming these obstacles has made me more determined to finish my studies and achieve all of my dream just to make my family happy and proud. I'm grateful for the lessons learned, as they've helped me grow stronger and more confident in my abilities to face whatever the future holds.

what are some of the challenges that i've faced in life?

I've faced so many challenges, having low self- esteem, doubting myself, being worried about the future. I really hate the feeling when I'm starting to doubt myself again and think about the future that holds because I'll distance myself to my friends even to my family. I don't want them to know what I'm going through, I just prefer handling it alone. Maybe because I'm afraid that no one will understands me and invalidate what I felt. Sometimes I want to express my feelings, show them that I can't do this anymore, tell them I'm tired, scream, or cry, but I lack the courage to do all of this things because they've known me a as an independent, that I can take care of myself and I can manage to handle it well. The only way that comfort me is prayer, everytime I pray it gives me peace and assurance that all of this things will pass and I will feel the joy and happiness again without worrying of my future. I trust in God and I believe in him.
