Getting Cheated On

Experience: My first long-term boyfriend had another girlfriend the last three months we were together.

Believe: I must be unloveable

Action: I distanced myself from friends and family because if someone is capable of doing that to me, no one else would want to be around me.

Results: I spent a few months of my life completely alone.

My boss was manipulative

Experience: For over a year I paid money to work 60+ hours a week of manual labor with only one day off for the "experience", while my boss would insult me to the point of tears weekly and then claim it was only because I was lazy and a nasty person.

Believe: Since this is obviously true, there's no point in leaving because I will get treated like this everywhere.

Action: Stayed there for over a year and tried to just work harder to no avail.

Results: All of my self esteem was shattered and I got extremely anxious every time she was around.

My Parents

Experience: Growing up, my parents were always my biggest supporters and have done everything possible to give me a wonderful life.

Believe: That no matter what they will always be there for me

Action: They have given me a great example of everything I want to be for my kids.

Results: They have made me empathetic, kind and hard working.

My New Horse

Experience: Jumping my new horse clear over my biggest course in over two years just a month after I was told to sell her because she was too dangerous and I'd never get anywhere with her.

Believe: I never listened to what people told me about her so this only proved what I already knew to be true correct.

Action: She got injured the week after and hasn't been back yet but I know I will always trust my instincts.

Results: I always trust her over what people tell me about her.

Getting a Different Job

Experience, after quitting my job with my boss who was terrible to me, I found somewhere I am valued and respected as a person.

Believe: Never let someone tell me things about myself that I know aren't true.

Action: I am a better employee now because I'm not constantly under stress of accidentally making a small mistake.

Results: I am much happier now

TO: "No one is ever unloveable"

Everytime I go back to my old way of thinking I will remember that there is no one who is truly unloveable and someone will appreciate you no matter who you are.
